Step 6 – Move-in Day

So we are finally here! The i’s are dotted and t’s crossed and all the paperwork and prep is in place. We will arrange for the tenants to come to the office to collect their keys along with a handy pack of information to help them locate things in the first few days.

We will send them a digital link to their online inventory and they will have 7 days to go through this and add any comments, pictures and then sign to confirm the condition of the property. This gets kept on file to help with any end of tenancy enquiries.

If we are managing your property, we will get in touch with the relevant utilities, council and water suppliers with the tenant’s details and any meter readings so that their responsibility starts from the tenant start date. We also schedule an inspection for around two months after move in, just to check they are settling in, check condition and highlight any snagging issues.

The deposit will be protected within the first 30 days of the tenant via the TDS. The tenants will be served the certificate, prescribed information and TDS terms and conditions via the Goodlord platform. If the tenant opted for Reposit, their Reposit will be live and they will have access to their account online.
