This week our market research team have been busy finding out what really matters to tenants when it comes to property hunting. They set out to discover what they are really looking for when property hunting online and also when it comes to choosing a property. They then asked property landlords the same questions.
Whilst affordability was a key decision to tenants when choosing a property, it was interesting that in the post-Covid world with working from home, broadband speed was an important factor when choosing a property to live in.
Landlords need to focus more on this when purchasing a buy to let property. Currently, only 57% of landlords see broadband speed as important verse 79% of tenants. When it comes to running costs of a home only 67% of landlords view this as important verse a whopping 87% of tenants.
What was also interesting was estate agents marketing. As you can see above, tenants want to see more photos of the property before booking an appointment. Estate Agents need to show more – thankfully at JDG we do, and now with our video tours, a potential tenant can see exactly what your home offers!
