The demand for houses in Lancaster and Morecambe continues….

Are you someone who is thinking of moving? If so, you’ll be interested to know that the demand for property is at an all-time high.

This week our research team thought they would look closer at the visits to agents own websites and the property portals to see what the online activity. What they found is that whilst the number of new properties coming to the market is at an all-time low, demand for properties from house hunters is quite the opposite!

The graph above shows what has happened with regards to demand for property since the first lockdown began. We can see how it gained momentum from the when the housing market re-opened in May and how it tailed off during the festive period.

What is interesting though is how demand soared when the 3rd lockdown happened and people realised that once again, they would have to spend more time in their homes. Many buyers have been looking to upsize, the need for a home office or a home with more flexible space being high on the priority list.

Across the UK demand has soared by 21%. Here in Lancaster and Morecambe property views on Rightmove are up 54%. Last year the area averaged 38.6 views per property. This year it is 59.5 views per property.

What is really interesting is that at JDG our properties averaged 50.9 views in this same period in 2020. This year it is 97.7 views. This is a huge increase of 92%.

Better Marketing = Increased property views = Increased physical viewings = a higher change of seller and for a better price!
