Are you ready to sell your Lancaster home this Spring?

Spring is in the air. The clocks go forward this weekend which means lighter days. The weather will start to get warmer, the skies will turn blue and more people will start looking to move home!

Historically Spring is the most popular time in the housing market. Whilst Lancaster is not a seasonal city as such, it is long acknowledged as the best time to move home.

We’ve already discussed how the housing market is returning to pre-pandemic levels, however, Rightmove reports demand levels are currently 6% higher than in 2019, and with the Easter holidays just a few weeks away, now really is a great time to get your property listed to sell.

Many home movers, seek to complete on a property in the summer months. With average conveyancing times of 12–16 weeks, that equates to having offers accepted in April or May. Everyone wants to move in the nicer weather!

I would like to add a footnote to anyone thinking of selling. Recent research conducted by Dataloft reveals that 47% of buyers are wanting a home in “move-in” conditions. More than one in three home movers are attracted by a recently-fitted kitchen and/or bathroom. Others are just looking for a home that is clean, tidy and well-presented. It really does pay to make sure your home is well-presented before listing it for sale!
