Are you struggling to work in your Lancaster home?

Working from home is not new for many Lancaster residents. We are a university city and over the years many researchers, social workers, and self-employed people have enjoyed the flexibility home working can give.

Since the start of the pandemic though many other people have been forced to work from home. At first, it was fun however the novelty of sharing a workspace with a loved one has worn off, and whilst we can now return to the office, not everybody wants to. Working from home has its benefits. Many people have enjoyed a better work-life balance. Money has been saved and who doesn’t enjoy the extra 30 minutes in bed!

The 2021 Property Academy Home moving trend survey reports that 49% of homeowners feel their property is unsuitable for working from home. 28% of people stated that have no dedicated workspace or office to do so. What was more interesting is that 35% of buyers and sellers felt that a home office/area to work from home was very important. It is becoming a key reason why people are moving. Simply put, people need more space.

With this in mind, homebuilders are now looking at ways to incorporate this into their home designs. And if you are thinking of selling your Lancaster home and happen to have space for a home office / flexible living – it really needs highlighting in your marketing!
