New Lancaster Home Buyer Enquiries Increase by 16.8%

The UK property market is looking buoyant, and we have seen a record number of people looking to move home in Lancaster this month.

According to Rightmove, there have been 1.3 million new buyer enquiries in the month since the election (13th December to 15th January), a 15% increase compared to 12 months ago.

At JDG we have seen an even greater increase of 16.8% year-on-year, with 264 new buyer enquiries in January 2020 alone.

There has also been a 2.3% monthly increase in the price of properties coming to the market, the biggest monthly surge ever recorded for this time of year.

There certainly seems to be more optimism in the market at the moment. Provisional figures from the HMRC suggest a 6.8% year-on-year rise in sales volumes in December while house prices across the UK are rising at their strongest level in a year, according to the official UK House Price Index.

With the UK set to leave the EU tomorrow, and a Budget planned for March 11th, it will be interesting to see what this year brings to the UK property market.
